Thanks to my dear granddaughter, I’m starting a new chapter by beginning to write a blog.
Why? Well, I’ve always enjoyed writing, and it seems like a good way of keeping in touch with some of my friends and family around the world. No-one seems to write letters anymore (or at least, I find that mine are going unanswered more often), while email lacks the permanency of a letter. A blog feels more substantial than that, and hopefully there’ll be some opportunity for a discussion occasionally.
I think with my next post I’ll start to talk a little about my life, the unusual place I live, and some of the people around me.
